Hey there business fans. I keep getting reminded about this over and over again. And I talk about it in my talks to solo-preneurs and business professionals (especially personal trainers and interior designers)…there is no relationship between being technically good at what you do and getting paid.
It’s simple really, you can have all the ‘knowledge’. The book smarts if you will, and be terrible at the application of that knowledge to turn it into money.
I was with some very cool, very sexy, and very savvy personal trainers the other day who weren’t making ANY money. They were making some but not a ton. It was crazy, because they had all the knowledge. All the know-how. All the potential to be making it big. But they weren’t.
Why?
Because when it comes to making money, the skill set you need has NOTHING to do with the actual THING you are doing, and everything to do with the attracting and converting and retaining of clients who pay you. That’s it.
Today when you are doing your THING, think about just how much time you are spending on making money. Are you reading and filling your brain with more information about doing the THING? Or are you spending time reading and filling your brain with tactics about how to convert that knowledge into MONEY?
